Bollywood, the commercial Hindi film business, is an integral part of Bombay’s fabric and of the Indian imaginaire. Brilliant and energetic, with singing, dancing, and drama, Bollywood films are consumed all over the world, and India is one of the few countries to largely prefer its own movies to those of Euro-America. Bollywood produces twice as many films yearly as Hollywood does, makes more money worldwide, and quite possibly, has more fun.
