This online exhibition was first published in ca. 2007 by Cornell University Library’s Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections. It accompanied and featured content from the physical exhibition of rare materials displayed in Cornell University’s Carl A. Kroch Library from September 25, 2007 to April 28, 2008. Cornell University Library archived the original version of the online exhibition in 2024 to preserve its earlier design. This version maintains access to the original images and text, both in English and French, within an updated website.
Cornell University célèbre le 250eme anniversaire de la naissance de Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert Du Motier La Fayette (1757-1834) en exposant une partie du fonds éponyme, le plus important sur ce personnage aux États-Unis, et de fait au monde - la France mise à part. Depuis sa constitution dans les années 1960, grâce à la générosité d'Arthur et Mary Marden Dean, cette collection riche de 11 000 documents est conservée au sein de la division des livres rares et précieux et des manuscrits de la bibliothèque universitaire.
