so i found what i came to cornell looking for. i can write this chapter of my dissertation in peace now kowing that my hunch has been correct. im not a historian but sitting in the archives for 6 hours a day for several weeks feels great (after finding that needle in the haystack.) i left the archives early today and may even skip tomorrow and do some other tasks. maybe i'll decompress by one of Ithacas gorge streams or something... im just thankful i don't have to write my dissertation on one of these damned typerwriters!!! _visting scholar
