Irene Castle in "Patria" Promotion

Patria is a serial film produced in 1917, consisting of 15 episodes starring Irene Castle, Milton Sills, and Warner Oland. Patria was an independent film serial funded by Williams Randolph Hearst and contained anti-Japanese propaganda leading to a United States Senate investigation.

Irene Castle in "Patria"

The serial was based on the novel The Last of the Fighting Channings by Louis Joseph Vance. It was released in the United States on January 14, 1917 and distributed by International Film Service. Leopold and Theodore Wharton directed episodes 1-10 and Jacques Jaccard directed episodes 11-15.
