Moving the Call Board
When construction began the call board was removed from its original location. While Professor Skovira and the students weren’t allowed to work in the primary construction zone, they did get their own little construction zone on the first floor, complete with plastic sheeting to block off the area. The call board was put on blocks, enabling the call board team to access the inner workings of the board.
Hanging the nearly 1,000 pound call board in its new location was tricky. In order to limit any damage caused in the hanging process, all of the newly upgraded computer, power supply and electrical components had to be removed and reinstalled once the metal shell of the board was securely in place. Final installation took place in the summer of 2025; although they had already graduated, Akansha Shrestha, Anushka Mathew, Yikai Guan, and Harsh Panara stayed in Ithaca to see their efforts through to the end.
