Upgrading the 63 Year Old Board

Olin Library opened in 1961, and the call board was an original, custom feature. Due to the uniqueness of the call board and its significance to the history of Olin Library and Cornell University, Professor Skovira advocated for a minimally invasive approach. This added a new challenge to the project; the goal was no drilling, cutting, or rewiring. Any upgrades made should be non-invasive and reversible. The team had to work with the existing structure of the board and reuse as much of the original wiring as possible to preserve the integrity of the call board.
