Maps of Oneida Indian Removal examines how state and federal governmental actors utilized illegal and extra-legal measures to dispossess the Oneidas of their homeland in New York for white settlement and resource extraction.

How do contemporaneous maps help reveal these forces? How can elements of a map have implications beyond their immediate meaning? Questions of cartographic analysis complemented by historical contextual research will help to paint a visual history of the removal of the Oneida Nation.
